Television Tuesdays: The X Factor

For today’s addition of Television Tuesdays we will talk about The X Factor.

With only four acts left, the show is down to the wire.

Last week’s show was full of emotion and controversy. Marcus Canty and Rachel Crow were placed in the bottom two by America’s votes. Each performer sang a final song and then turned to the judges to decide which of them would be staying for the next episode. After the other three judges had voted, it came down to Nicole Scherzinger to make the decision. Claiming she was not able to choose, she voted for Rachel, sending the two performers into a deadlock, forcing the decision to be placed on the votes of the viewers.

In a surprising and emotional turn of events, Rachel Crow was sent home.

The 13-year old burst into tears as her name was announced. It was almost too hard to watch.

Needless to say, Scherzinger has been the blunt of some serious backlash after refusing to vote. She even seemed surprised about the results, becoming emotional the moment Crow’s name was said. The audience booed her and she refused to give a comment as Crow left the stage.

You know Nicole, you wouldn’t have to feel this way if you had just made the right decision in the first place.

However, the show must go on. Josh Krajcik, Melanie Amaro, Chris Rene and Marcus Canty are the four contestants left to battle it out in the semifinals this week. The show airs Dec 14 and Dec 15 on Fox. Tune in Wednesday to see the last four perform and vote for your favorite. Thursday you will find out which three contestants will make it to the finale.

I sure hope that my girl Melanie Amaro is one of them. If you haven’t heard this girl sing, you are missing out.

Who is your favorite X Factor contestant?
